Another use for the THRIVE pantry cans....Monsters Inc Scream Cans!

I did a Monsters Inc theme birthday party for my son. I saw a cute idea for a birthday "thank you " gift for the kids to take home.....Scream Cans!

So I made my own using our THRIVE Life Pantry size empty cans.
I wrapped the metal cans with yellow vinyl and just decorated them with strips of black, silver and burgundy vinyl. I stuffed the cans with a small container of bubbles, Monster Inc stickers, a fruit snack pack, and a "Thank You card" for coming to my party and for my gift. It was so easy and fun to make!

The taller cans were for decorations and I just used cardboard tubes.

I cut out "monster shape feet" using colored foam paper and taped them on the driveway and sidewalk leading to the front door.

I made a "Pin the Eye" on Mike game for the kids. I have a vinyl machine, so I was able to cut Mike out and put on a large foam board.
I just cut out a white circle on poster board and glued on a large googly eye in the middle.

  1. Where did you get the vinyl, and how much did you use for each can?

    1. I already had the vinyl, so I just wrapped the cans and then cut out the shapes. I can't remember how much I used for each can...so sorry. You can probably do a search for the vinyl and order it online. Depending on how large your can is, you can measure how tall and round it is to figure how much vinyl you would need to wrap each can.
I hope that helped! This was such a FUN party!

  2. I also printed out the images I used on the front door and game on my vinyl machine.
